After snag, used truck market sales gain in October

The used truck market has found course once again, says ACT Research, as sales improved 6 percent from September for Class3-8 trucks.

That number dropped 17 percent in September from August, wiping out months’ worth of gains, said ACT in that report. To date, the number of reported Class 8 trucks sold “remained positive,” says Steve Tam, VP of the commercial vehicle sector with ACT. “However, year-over-year pricing experienced a meaningful decline. 

The report has data on the average used price for all major North American OEMs — Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, International, Volvo and Mack.
