ALK Technologies releases PC Miler 28

ALK Technologies, a global provider of “GeoLogistics” systems and navigation software announced the release of PC Miler 28, the latest version of its longstanding truck routing, mileage and mapping software.  ALK says the new version has added tools and enhanced functionality geared around the need for greater customization, providing the safest, most effective routing for each customer’s specific business needs.

New Custom Route Profiles enable users to save sets of frequently used routing preferences and vehicle dimensions for future use, which saves back-office planning time.  Existing PC Miler users that have built extensive custom settings in a previous version, including route options, custom road speeds and custom vehicle profiles, can now easily import them to PC Miler 28.  The software’s time-based routing also now integrates road restrictions that are active during specific times and provides restriction warnings in its detailed driving directions.

“We’re pleased to add this new layer of improvements to empower customers to get the most out of the product that has become the industry standard they rely on,” said Dan Popkin, senior vice president, enterprise solutions, ALK Technologies.  “PC Miler 28 represents another leap forward in providing our customers the ability to build a custom routing solution and workflow that streamlines operations, increases productivity and meets their specific business needs.”

Additional enhancements include optimized routing for medium-duty trucks and the ability to add custom categories per the users’ specifications to the Custom Place Manager feature. Enhanced routing, map data and address matching are also a major part of the release.

The comprehensive suite of PC Miler 28 integration tools has also been updated and enhanced. The software interfaces with all leading transportation, logistics and fleet management systems. PC Miler runs on Microsoft Windows, UNIX, and Linux platforms, as well as IBM AS/400 (iSeries) and mainframe computers. It is also available as a web-based application.
