ATA, Penske, Colorado Motor Carriers Association honored by EPA’s SmartWay program

The American Trucking Associations, Colorado Motor Carriers Association and Penske Truck Leasing have been named SmartWay Affiliate Challenge Honorees by the Environmental Protection Agency.

ATA is receiving the award for the seventh time and sixth year in a row, while Penske is receiving its fifth consecutive award. The EPA recognizes companies each year for their efforts to educate and promote improvements in freight emissions and other environmental impacts.

Penske received the honor for enrolling three new partners into the SmartWay program, helping customers establish fuel economy and emissions benchmarking and more. ATA was recognized for its outreach to state trucking associations about SmartWay strategies and more. The CMCA earned the honor for using SmartWay criteria in state awards programs recognizing fleets and helping smaller carriers submit applications to become SmartWay partners.
