The American Transportation Research Institute last week unveiled a compendium of sustainable freight practices available on its website.

The site covers practices ranging from driver training, idle reduction, speed management to vehicle aerodynamics, tires and engines systems.

It also shows research findings on the costs and benefits associated with employing sustainable practices.

ATRI says the site is designed as a “one-stop shop for information on motor carrier sustainable practices,” and it has broken the site down into three key categories: Driver practices, vehicle practices and public sector practices.

The latter identifies how congestion mitigation, research and testing and use of standards can help boost sustainable practices in the industry.
