Clayton, Ala.-based Boyd Bros. Transportation announced Dec. 4 it has acquired Mid Seven Transportation, a 35-truck fleet based in Des Moines, Iowa.
Mid Seven driver pool consists solely of owner-operators and its area of focus is primarily on the Midwest, with a few lanes extending into the South, Northeast and Southwest, carrying steel, machinery and agricultural equipment transported on flatbed and drop deck trailers, Boyd Bros. said in its announcement.
“We plan to operate Mid Seven autonomously as a separate subsidiary,” said Boyd Bros. President Richard Baily. “Mid Seven has some of the best owner-operators and employees in the industry and we are especially proud of their safety and service culture.”
Boyd Bros. says it expects Mid Seven’s revenues to exceed $6 million this year.
