Descartes Systems Group, a provider to logistics-intensive businesses in commerce, announced that Cabela’s – a specialty retailer and direct marketer of hunting, fishing, camping and related outdoor merchandise – is improving productivity and customer service with Descartes’ Dock Appointment and Yard Management solutions.
Part of Descartes’ cloud-based Transportation Management suite, these solutions are designed to provide integrated visibility, control and performance reporting for inbound and outbound shipments to and from Cabela’s North American distribution centers.

Descartes says its Dock Appointment and Yard Management combine multiparty commercial and logistics information and processes to better manage inventory and improve customer service through better control of the purchase order-to-dock door lifecycle. The solutions are designed to help Cabela’s control the flow of goods into and out of their distribution centers and better plan resources within the facilities.
