Lytx, a provider of video-based driver safety, announced that it has signed an agreement with Canal Insurance Company, a trucking insurance specialist with more than 75 years’ experience, to offer the Lytx DriveCam program to insureds.
Lytx’s DC Enterprise and DC Protect programs will be offered to Canal insureds as a CanalRISK360 value added service through its risk management services unit.
“We believe that bringing the Lytx DriveCam Program to our insureds’ fleets is another unique and effective solution Canal offers that can assist insureds in improve operations,” said Gary Flaherty, Canal assistant vice president, risk management services. “The DriveCam program will be one of the cornerstones of the resources in CanalRISK360 and is essential in our goal to improve driver safety.”
The Lytx DriveCam program helps prevent collisions by combining video with predictive analytics, real-time driver feedback and coaching. The DC Enterprise program is Lytx’s most comprehensive safety program enabling operators to manage and coach all enrolled drivers in their fleet. A streamlined DC Protect program is also available and enables operators to manage the riskiest 20% of drivers while still protecting all drivers from false claims.
A recent Virginia Tech Transportation Institute study shows that more than 800 lives could be saved each year using video-based driver safety technology, and that the Lytx DriveCam Program alone could prevent more than 25,000 commercial vehicle collisions and nearly 40,000 injuries annually.
