Carrier Logistics Inc. (CLI) has introduced Facts SalesDetails. The new tool was designed to help trucking companies stimulate sales by analyzing sales data to determine business opportunities and customer needs often overlooked in the crush of daily activities.
Facts SalesDetails is a business intelligence enhancement to CLI’s Facts total freight management system. The idea is to find all of the opportunities for new business, especially those with current customers, said Ken Weinberg, CLI vice president.
“For example, a trucking company may find that it is handling a customer’s shipments to Chicago and Detroit but not Pittsburgh,” he said. “Or, they may discover all the shipments from a particular customer are very small ones.”
Executives of a transportation company can use the new knowledge from SalesDetails to solicit the categories of business they are not currently handling or handling only in minimal amounts, he added.
Using web-based Facts SalesDetails, trucking companies can compile usable information on customers, sales territories, shipping lanes, pickup and delivery and line haul. All the information is ready when needed, presented in a report designed by the user.
“With the ability to see the big picture and call up the tiniest details at the same time, company and sales managers can quickly achieve improved results when they put SalesDetails to daily use,” Weinberg said.
Facts SalesDetails provides additional capabilities such as shipment visibility from origin to destination. Salespeople can create a quote, schedule a pick-up or check on shipment location in one easy click.
Companies can also run instant reports to better understand their customers and current volume. They can determine which clients are booming, which are dropping off, and which are no longer active, he said.
The new application works with other components of CLI’s Facts system, an information technology software system that incorporates billing, routing, rating, and online shipment tracing for LTL, mixed LTL and truckload, liquid bulk, and parcel delivery carriers and their customers.
