Cpc LogoUtah-based onewaytrailers.com introduced a quick search and sort function to its motor carrier monitoring service – Carrier Performance Check (CPcheck) – to find CARB compliant carriers operating in California.

The new California Air Resources Board (CARB regulation) went into effect, on January 1, 2013, and requires every carrier driving on California roads to comply with the rules, or face substantial fines. While the weight of the regulations primarily fall on carriers, brokers and shippers will face penalties if they fail to ensure they are contracting with compliant carriers.

“With CPcheck we’ve decreased the amount of time needed to validate the safety, insurance, authority and history of the carriers that we hire,” said Zan Sharp of Sharp Transportation, Inc. The company will now be able to monitor CARB compliance as well. “Using CPcheck we can evaluate a carrier with a single click. This is vital to the security and efficiency of our businesses.”

The CPcheck monitoring service competes directly with existing carrier monitoring providers by supplying an expanded set of services, such as collecting cargo insurance certificates, personalized certificates, advanced search functions, Smartway, CARB TRU, and more.

“We saw an increasing need for affordable, accurate carrier information and documentation to support shipper decision-making and brokerage operations,” said Lyn Simon, president of onewaytrailers.com. CPcheck was developed in-house by Simon and his team. “(CPcheck.com) is a great way for us to expand our service offering.”

The CPcheck.com site provides one-stop shopping with access to carrier performance reporting; authority and insurance history; CSA scores and trends; and cargo, liability and non-owned trailer physical damage insurance monitoring.

Users can search using a carrier’s name, DOT, MC or MX number to get important safety details of a specific motor carrier including: Safety Ratings, Authority information, Insurance information, Roadside inspection details, CSA Basic Scores, contact information, and detailed history of each category.

CPcheck also provides the most recent, and historical CSA scores for all carriers in the BASIC categories of Unsafe Driving, Fatigued Driving, Driver Fitness, Controlled Substances/Alcohol, and Vehicle Maintenance, allowing CPcheck customers to analyze the trends of their carriers’ CSA performance.

In addition to low-cost, online access to carrier information, CPcheck.com is integrated with trucking software to help companies eliminate the manual hassle and risk of validating carriers, gathering insurance information, and monitoring carrier safety and authority data from within their enterprise application.
