Cobra Electronics Corp., a manufacturer of GPS navigation systems for professional and recreational drivers, announced that its 7750 Platinum GPS Navigation series has been honored with a CES Innovations 2011 Design and Engineering Award. The 7750 Platinum, which made its debut in August at the 2010 Great American Trucking Show, was selected in the In-Vehicle Navigation/Telematics/ITS product category. The award is given by the Consumer Electronics Association.
The Cobra 7750 Platinum features enhanced graphics, Junction View with Lane Assist, State Mileage Log and an Hours-of-Service Log. In addition, the 7750 Platinum features last-mile routing and added road coverage on secondary highways. The enhanced graphics and menu options on the 7750 Platinum are designed for maximum visibility in sunlight and optimized efficiency when scrolling through searches and settings of the unit. The intuitive new Quick-Tabs feature is designed to allow drivers to view critical information such as the distances to weigh stations, travel centers, rest areas and mile markers at a glance.
The new Junction View with Lane Assist is designed to provide drivers with 3D images of upcoming highway junctions as well as lane guidance and enhanced turn-by-turn directions. The State Mileage Log function is designed to track miles within a state for IFTA reporting, while the Hours-of-Service timer is designed to enable drivers to track their On-Duty, Off-Duty, and Driving Time.
