The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s three-year cross-border trucking pilot program with Mexico officially ended Oct. 14, and FMCSA said in a statement that the 13 carriers participating in the program have been converted to provisional or standard operating authority, allowing them to continue to operate in the U.S.
Now, FMCSA says, they will await a report from its Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee and the Department of Transportation Inspector General before determining its next steps regarding cross-border trucking.
MCSAC meets at the end of this month, and cross-border trucking discussion is on the docket.
