The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has ordered a three-truck fleet based in Nevada to cease operations after the agency discovered hours-of-service and other violations.
FMCSA said during a compliance review it discovered that the Las Vegas-based JDJD Transportation failed to ensure its drivers complied with HOS rules, failed to ensure drivers had valid CDLs and failed to inspect and maintain equipment.
The agency says the carrier did not maintain copies of drivers’ records of duty status and had no mechanism in place to check for driver compliance. It also did not drug test its drivers or maintain inspection records of its equipment, despite a pattern of roadside inspections finding serious equipment problems.
During the nine months prior to the January compliance review, JDJD Transportation was subjected to nine roadside inspections. On all but two occasions, multiple serious safety violations were discovered.
