The Washington State Department of Transportation announced that starting this week, State Route 520 commuters will see new “smarter” highway signs between Interstates 5 and 405. Drivers also should expect delays Tuesday through Thursday night as crews close up to two lanes on eastbound and westbound SR 520 to install the electronic signs. WSDOT says the high-tech system will be tested before activating later this year.
