Intermec adds RFID to 70 Series family

Intermec announced integrated RFID capabilities for its CK70, CN70 and CN70e mobile computers. Part of Intermec’s 70 Series family, these devices now offer a fully-integrated UHF RFID reader with no external antenna – adding advanced RFID reading capabilities to their compact, ultra-rugged designs.

Designed specifically for customers seeking a mobile RFID solution in demanding in-premise environments, the Intermec 70 Series RFID reader platform supports medium to long-range read distances and is optimized to read one or many tags in support of inventory and asset tracking applications in retail, healthcare, industrial and government market segments.

Additionally, the 70 Series RFID does not compromise size and weight; with a fully integrated design utilizing Intermec’s IM11 embedded module, along with an internally housed antenna, Intermec says customers can experience advanced RFID read performance while maintaining the already-compact form factor of the 70 Series mobile computers.

With its single platform approach, the 70 Series RFID has the ability to deliver the benefits that come with one architecture, one software build, one set of peripherals and one charging system. These features bring simplicity to the frequent tasks of software updates, training new employees, managing spares pools and charging devices, the company says.

Additionally, the 70 Series RFID is fully compatible with the entire suite of original 70 Series accessories including the FlexDock modular docking system, which is designed to meet current and future charging and communication needs while maximizing the return on accessory investment.
