kellerElectronic logging application provider J.J. Keller announced this week it has updated its Encompass E-Log system to reflect the suspension of the 2013-implemented 34-hour restart provisions.

President Obama signed into law in December an appropriations act that halted enforcement of certain hours-of-service provisions, pending further study by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

For fleets and drivers using J.J. Keller’s e-log application, the update alerts should have gone to the mobile device — iPad, iPhone or Android device — using the app. An update alert should have also been sent to the Keller-branded Compliance Tablet.

PeopleNet, Big Road and Keeptrucking have also updated their software to reflect the changes.
