Peterbilt 567, 579 & Kenworth T680, T880 getting Allison TC10 auto transmission

Allison TC10 fully automatic transmissionPaccar announced Wednesday at the Mid America Trucking Show the company will offer the Allison TC10 fully automatic transmission as an option on its Kenworth T680 and T880 models and Peterbilt models 567 and 579 later this year.

Designed for line haul, regional haul, and pick-up and delivery tractor applications, the TC10 features 10 forward and two reverse speeds. A patented torque converter and twin countershaft gearbox optimize acceleration while improving fuel economy through engine down-speeding and uninterrupted power shifting in all ranges. The TC10 is integrated with multiple engine offerings and will be offered for applications requiring torque up to 1,850 lb.-ft. and up to 110,000-lb GCW.

The Allison TC10 offers a comprehensive five-year or 750,000-mile warranty. Additionally, customers can expect a superior total cost of ownership with no maintenance required for 500,000 miles.
