Landes Trucking Inc. has selected Bob Oitker as the recipient of its first employee CARE Award, given in recognition of outstanding customer service. Oitker was recommended for the award after he caught a shipper loading error in two trailers, preventing the shipper from having issues with two customers. Oitker received a $50 cash award, and his name was inscribed on the CARE plaque displayed in the lobby of Landes Trucking.

“This award, named CARE for Customer Appreciation Recognition for Employees, was established in 2010 to honor any Landes employee who receives significant and unsolicited recognition from a customer for doing an outstanding job in support of the customer’s business,” says Jim House, chief executive officer of Jacksonville, Ill.-based Landes.
