East Manufacturing, Randolph, Oh., introduced the new all-aluminum MMX, a 48-ft platform trailer designed to handle concentrated loads up to 72,000 lb in four ft. It comes in standard lengths up to 53 ft and can be tailored with two to eight-axle configurations. A drop-deck version also is available, along with B-train flats
The hollow core floor design comes standard with knurling. East’s exclusive Concentrated Load Package, for hauling point loads like steel coils, is optional. The MMX also will comply with the proposed North American Cargo Securement Standard, a vehicle weight limitation bill, by adding an axle to make the trailer a tridem, and having a 97,000-lb GVWR. A 48×96-ft base trailer with cast drums, 24.5 steel disc wheels, and winch track on both sides of the trailer has a base weight of 9,185 lb, the company says.
