Lytx tailors video-based safety system to fit smaller fleets

Updated Jul 9, 2014

Lytx, Inc. (formerly DriveCam, Inc.), a global provider of video-based driver safety and compliance systems, announced the availability of DC Protect.

DC Protect is tailor-made for smaller, often lean organizations that still need and want to actively protect their fleets. DC Protect enables fleets in this market to increase safety and significantly reduce collision costs, said Adam McCarty, general manager, mid-markets at Lytx.

Building upon the insights gained from delivering the company’s flagship DriveCam powered by Lytx program to hundreds of fleets worldwide, the DC Protect Program has self-service tools designed to help improve safety and protect drivers. Using the company’s proprietary Lytx Safety Score, DC Protect helps identify and manage the drivers who would benefit most from coaching and performance improvement.

DC Protect includes:

  • The Power of Video – to enable fleet managers to protect 100 percent of their fleet, exonerate drivers from false claims, improve driver safety, and reduce collision costs. The in-vehicle video event recorder captures events and analyzes behavior while providing real-time feedback.
  • Lytx Safety Score — assesses the probability of being in a collision based on data from more than 25 billion miles driven and collected over more than 15 years.
  • Streamlined, Optimized Safety Program – to focus quickly on drivers with a higher probability of being involved in a collision to help predict and reduce the frequency and severity of collisions. Video events from actively managed drivers are captured and uploaded to the Lytx review center. Events are immediately available on the DriveCam Online platform and those with risk identified are marked for coaching so that client supervisors can conduct coaching sessions and improve driver performance.
