Mahle Powertrain announced plans to relocate its North American Powertrain and Test Systems offices to Farmington Hills, Mich., as part of a $15 million expansion project by its parent company Mahle Industries Inc.

As part of the move, the company’s powertrain test facilities will be upgraded to support current and future customer needs. This includes new and upgraded emissions equipment, high-speed data acquisition and control systems and the transfer of Mahle Powertrain’s existing equipment from its current facility in Novi, Mich.

“We are very pleased to be able to combine Mahle Industries and Mahle Powertrain engineering talent into one facility,” says Hugh Blaxill, general manager of Mahle Powertrain NAFTA. “As our customers demand more complex engine and powertrain solutions to help meet the ever increasing demand for fuel economy, we will be better prepared to help meet these needs moving forward.”
