Mansfield Oil Co. – a provider of fuel supply, distribution and logistics services – announced that it has acquired the commercial and industrial business unit of TransMontaigne Product Services Inc., responsible for the provision of supply chain management services for the physical delivery of gasoline and diesel fuel downstream of the truck loading rack (the “SMS Business”). Terms were not disclosed.
Mansfield says it provides fuel supply, distribution and logistics services in 49 states, and operates a single-source solution for customers’ full truckload, less-than-truckload, mobile refueling and fleet fueling needs. Mansfield says its newly acquired commercial and industrial customer base includes some of the largest companies in the waste, food distribution, trucking and package delivery industries.
“We have long admired TransMontaigne’s ability to execute a nationwide fuel delivery service, as well as their ability to resolve customers’ most difficult operational and risk management challenges,” says Michael Mansfield, chief executive officer of Mansfield. “These existing capabilities complement the nationwide supply and distribution footprint Mansfield has built over the past 50 years and will allow us to make continued progress with a fast-growing part of our business – servicing national accounts in the commercial and industrial sector.”
Mansfield says it is opening a Denver office, retaining the current TransMontaigne SMS Business team and expanding the operation with additional resources from its corporate office in Gainesville, Ga. The new Denver group will serve as the customer service center for the existing TransMontaigne SMS Business customers, as well as an operations base for Mansfield’s Western U.S. growth initiatives.
