A new survey commissioned by the American Trucking Associations seeks to quantify the amount of money the trucking industry donates to charities, as well as the types of charities the industry tends to support.

The group commissioned the American Transportation Research Institute to conduct the survey. The survey asks fleets, industry suppliers, associations and others in the trucking industry, as well as individuals, to report their 2016 charitable giving.

“In October, during my first State of the Industry address, I said ATA would be launching a charitable foundation aimed at our industry’s top priority, but to do that, we must first identify what it is our industry already does,” said ATA President and CEO Chris Spear.

Spear adds the survey will help ATA narrow down the causes the industry already supports so it can focus its future charitable efforts.

The survey can be found here.
