Teletrac Inc., a provider of advanced fleet management solutions, announced a series of new mobile apps based on its Fleet Director GPS and vehicle tracking solutions. The company says the new mobile apps will help increase driver, technician and manager productivity, connecting employees at any place, at any time.

Fleet Director Mobile is designed to empower “always-on” operations managers with real-time mobile capabilities for managing and tracking assets from the Apple iPad 24/7/365. A wide range of fleet tracking capabilities include pinpointing the location of any vehicle in the fleet or a subfleet, monitoring vehicle start and stop times for improved security and quick response to incidents such as stolen vehicle alerts, and monitoring of unsafe driving behaviors to help improve fleet and driver safety performance. Teletrac says that with Fleet Director Mobile, managers will be able to get a handle on operations, collaborate on decisions and events as well as access critical information from their iPad.

“Without a doubt, tablets and smartphones are revolutionizing our daily lives, and usage is exploding among businesses that rely on a mobile workforce,” says Drew Hamilton, executive vice president of Teletrac. “Given the nature of the industries we serve, such as field services, transportation, construction and logistics, and the need for more cost-effective management of their vehicles, we are very excited to extend our flagship solution, Fleet Director, to our customers that have embraced new mobile technologies.”
