East Manufacturing Corp. says its new Genesis trailer represents improvements in both durability and aesthetics. The Genesis features 2-inch thick extruded aluminum double-wall panels supported by internal ribs every 3 inches. East says that this interior rib pattern provides eight times more wall support than external posts every 25 inches. The panels are continuously welded together vertically to form a strong, stable wall.
This construction, says East, is lighter but stronger and more resistant to bowing than traditional sheet and post sides. The new design also means that dings and dents on the inside of the trailer side will not show through to the outside, helping to maximize resale value.
The Genesis is slightly more expensive than a post-and-sheet trailer, but its smooth sidewalls mean better aerodynamics and the potential to save fuel. It also makes for an ideal billboard for any company, says East.
