NHTSA floats vehicle safety plan

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is seeking comments by Sept. 23 on its proposal for vehicle safety rulemaking priorities, including those related to heavy trucks. The truck proposals include shorter stopping distances, improved braking, reduced tire failure and continued work with drowsy driver sensing systems.
