No smog delays at Cloud 9

Terion (www.terion.com), a provider of trailer fleet management systems, has launched FleetView 3R, a version of its FleetView 3 trailer management system specifically designed for refrigerated trailers. Upgrades planned for 3R include the ability to pull data such as temperature set points from the microprocessor.

ALK Technologies (www.alk.com) announced that its ALK FleetSuite Tolls module now is available to AS/400-based enterprise solutions, following the Windows-based version introduced earlier this year. The company also released PC Miler Mobile, a Web-based driver tracking system with GPS navigation for trucks on mobile phones. The solution also provides turn-by-turn driving directions respecting commercial truck restrictions.

SiriComm (www.siricomm.com), a nationwide broadband wireless software and network company, announced that Idling Solutions LLC selected SiriComm’s Pulse telematic service for all IS9000 units installed by Idling Solutions. Information reported by Pulse includes battery voltage and amperage, engine status and GPS navigation data.

Tripmaster Corporation (www.tripmaster.com) – a manufacturer of onboard computer systems, mobile communications and software – has introduced Enterprise, a new browser-based system that provides access to company-wide data, including standard DOT data as well as vehicle maintenance, fuel and tracking data.

GE Global Research (www.crd.ge.com) plans to integrate and expand its efforts with telematics applications, such as GE’s VeriWise asset tracking product, by forming a Telematics Technology Center of Excellence based at its upstate New York R&D headquarters.

McLeod Software (www.mcleodsoftware.com) unveiled a new suite of business intelligence tools for its LoadMaster enterprise software. The browser-based modules enable carriers to measure and monitor the complex key performance indicators (KPIs); to pull information from throughout their trucking operation to determine the most profitable elements; and see graphically loads and available trucks on a map.

Intermec Technologies (www.intermec.com) has introduced SmartSystem technology to simplify most of the tasks associated with implementation and device management, such as configuring mobile computers, downloading updated security patches or performing routine maintenance. All new Intermec mobile computers, bar code and RFID printers, scanners, wireless access points and application software are being developed with SmartSystem.
