The National Private Truck Council and its affiliated Institute for Truck Transportation Management will hold their principal meetings in 2002 in Austin, Texas.

First up is ITTM’s annual Fleet Management Institute, to be held Jan. 20-25 at the Omni Austin Hotel. The Fleet Management Institute is a six-day educational resource used for continuing education and as a study aid for candidates preparing for the Certified Transportation Professional exam in February. Principal topic areas covered throughout the week are human resources, equipment & maintenance, finance, safety & compliance and operations.

NPTC’s annual meeting is scheduled for April 28-30 at the Austin Convention Center. Under the theme of “Shaping Transportation for Tomorrow,” the education/management conference and exhibition will offer more than 25 educational sessions designed for practical and immediate application in fleet operations of all sizes and industries. The exhibition will feature more than 100 companies.

Other events include the Driver Hall of Fame/Fleet Safety Awards Luncheon, a special reception for Women in Transportation and presentation of the CCJ/NPTC Commercial Fleet Graphics Awards.
