Omnitek Advanced Technologies has appointed CNG One Source of New York Inc., based in Clarence, N.Y., as a dealer and authorized installer of its diesel-to-natural gas conversion kits in the state.

“The addition of CNG One Source of New York to our growing network of domestic conversion centers provides a solid platform for growth in a region with significant supplies of natural gas,” said Werner Funk, president and chief executive officer of Omnitek.

Omnitek says it expects to announce similar conversion center partners throughout the country during the next few months in anticipation of receiving U.S. Environmental Protection Agency certification for its diesel-to-natural gas engine conversion kits for the domestic market for certain heavy-duty truck engines, including the Navistar DT466.

“Our fleet customers are extremely interested in diesel engine conversions and the economic benefits of utilizing natural gas,” said Karen Teslovich, president of CNG One Source of New York Inc. “We look forward to working with Omnitek and accelerating the adaption of natural gas in the New York region.”

Funk says Omnitek’s conversion technology offers a projected return on investment of less than two years.
