Cash tolls on the Pennsylvania Turnpike will go up 10 percent on Jan. 1, 2012, while E-ZPass rates will stay the same.
For a trucker driving from the Ohio border to the Delaware River Bridge, the 5-axle cash rate will increase to $185.50 from $168.60. Rates will be unchanged for E-ZPass customers, who account for about two-thirds of Turnpike travelers, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission said.
The increase will be applied to all vehicle classes on all Turnpike sections except the Southern Beltway (Turnpike 576) in Allegheny and Washington counties, where rates will be unchanged, the PTC said.

Absolutely highway robbery. Pennsylvania is a high tax state anyway and this is just more fleecing to drivers like me trying to make a living. No excuses for this except mismanagement of a state. They need this money not to keep the road maintained they get way beyond that, but to keep their bloated fat asses flush with cash to feed their benefits, pensions, and UNION WAGES above the national average for their state employees, and elected officals. Mom always said work for the government and she was right. I didn't listen and now my small business has to pay and pay and pay
