PeopleNet, a Trimble company and provider of fleet mobility technology, announced that its 20th anniversary heralds new possibilities for extending its legacy of innovation in transportation technology. Making the milestone announcement at the National Private Truck Council’s (NPTC) National Education Conference and Exhibition in Cincinnati, Ohio, PeopleNet President Brian McLaughlin said, “We’re grateful to our customers for attesting to our 20-year reputation for innovation and service — a reputation that no other provider in this industry can match. But we’re just getting started. There’s a new possible, and we’re changing the rules.”

With Trimble, PeopleNet has the long-term financial backing of an international leader in the transportation and logistics and energy services fields.

McLaughlin added that the company’s Precision Mobility Platform forges a complete fleet mobility system by integrating enterprise, analytics, and mobile technologies to provide powerful capabilities. “With an explosive set of new data from engines, loads, drivers, and third-party systems customers have access to real-time predictive analytics — a revolutionary game-changer that provides fleets an enormous competitive edge with actionable insight into vehicle and driver performance, asset protection and risk mitigation.”

With nearly 250,000 units and over 2,000 customers, PeopleNet’s open platform, McLaughlin said the company is poised to grab a healthy share of demand that he anticipates growing dramatically over the next five years from regulatory initiatives, high-growth transportation segments, and continued vertical market expansion. He says the company will choose specific segments like it did last year in the energy services sector and add new product lines for becoming a more complete fleet mobility provider, as it did with its trailer tracking and portable Tablet product lines in recent years.
