PeopleNet, a Trimble company and provider of fleet mobility technology, is holding its 13th annual User Conference at the JW Marriot Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Arizona from August 24-26.

The three-day conference, built around the theme of “Connext,” will have more than 50 educational workshops and seminars, double the amount offered in previous years, the company said. The sessions will feature new PeopleNet products including the PeopleNet Mobile Gateway, and the Android-based ConnectedTablet and ConnectedDriver mobile app.

“As we look to the future of the transportation industry, we’ll be facing issues like increased regulations and driver shortages, among others. Connext allows our innovative customers who have already adopted new technologies — such as ELDs — to collaborate with others about these industry hot buttons and provide insight about their experiences. PeopleNet wants attendees to be exposed to a new way of thinking about how to compete in a changing landscape,” said PeopleNet president Brian McLaughlin. “At PeopleNet we’ve had a lot of exciting changes, innovations and introductions, all of which positively impact our customers. We are eager to share these developments in more detail at our User Conference.”

Specifically, McLaughlin pointed to the following recent developments that will be covered in more detail during the conference:

  • The formation of four business lines — Trucking, Oil and Gas Services, Video Intelligence and Channels/OEMs
  • The integration of PeopleNet’s remote diagnostics system into Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks with PACCAR MX-13 engines and a recent collaboration with Cummins
  • The acquisition of Cadec Global to extend PeopleNet’s Fleet Mobility Solutions for trucking across the foodservice and private fleet industry
  • A new oil and gas product suite under Trimble’s Oil and Gas Services Division

Attendees are also invited to a Customer Appreciation Dinner and a special evening entertainment provided by country recording artist, songwriter, and radio host Lindsay Lawler who serves as a spokesperson for the Truckload Carrier’s Association’s Highway Angel program.

Additionally, PeopleNet will announce recipients of its annual â€śInnovator of the Year” award, which recognizes PeopleNet customers who are using the system to drive higher levels of ROI and performance through innovations in integration, custom-tailored applications, process implementation, training methods, and more.
