Peterbilt on Wednesday, July 11, announced that it now is producing its new Model 579 that features aerodynamic styling optimized for superior fuel efficiency and an interior that addresses operator comfort and productivity. The first 579 production vehicles are being built for Peterbilt and PacLease dealers.

“This is truly a historic occasion for our Peterbilt Denton production team,” said Bill Kozek, Peterbilt general manager and Paccar vice president.

The Model 579′s 2.1-meter aluminum cab is available as a day cab or with a detachable sleeper. The truck features the integrated Paccar MX 12.9-liter engine.

“After years of research, product development, capital investments, customer input and vehicle testing, this final result is a combination of total performance innovation and highest quality,” said Kozek. “This vehicle is truly one that delivers confidence and efficiency for bottom line-driven companies.”
