Phillips 66 Lubricants announced last week a continuation in its investment into the heavy-duty natural gas market by unveiling the Gaurdol NG and Kendall Super-D NG engine oil products for use in both compressed natural gas or liquified natural gas heavy-duty trucks.

According to Phillips’ announcement, because natural gas engines require protection from a wider range of conditions than diesel engines, both of the new engine oils offer temperature and oxidation control, balanced ash content to prevent valve stem deposits and reduced valve seat recession and exhaust after-treatment protection.

The oils have been approved for Cummins and Detroit Diesel spec’s and are available immediately in bulk and drums and, soon, gallon jugs, says Phillips.
