PPG enhances corrosion-resistant epoxy primers

user-gravatar Headshot

PPG Commercial Coatings has enhanced its CRE Series corrosion-resistant epoxy primers for improved chemical resistance, enhanced corrosion protection, a 96-hour recoat window and added adhesion to galvanized, galvaneal and stainless steel, as well as to current compatible substrates.

The CRE-X21 Series primers offer higher film build capabilities and added sag resistance, while their fill properties make the primers suitable for application over sandblasted profiles; they also provide a smoother appearance, allowing for a better finish appearance after the topcoat is applied.

The primers are offered in three standard colors – black, gray, and white – in addition to a tintable version and are suited for use on trailers, cranes, service bodies and cryogenic equipment. The primers can be applied using conventional equipment, pressure pots or airless, air-assisted airless or electrostatic spray equipment.
