Rand McNally has signed on as a sponsor of the Pilot Flying J Truck Driver Challenge. During the season, professional hauler drivers from IndyCar, NASCAR, and the NHRA series, will navigate road courses modeled after real-world obstacles, testing their safe driving abilities. When the safest and most skilled drivers are announced at the end of their respective seasons, the top-3 drivers in each series will receive a new Rand McNally TND truck GPS unit.

“Pilot Flying J is thankful and proud to have the support of a company such as Rand McNally,” said Mark Hazelwood, president of Pilot Flying J. “The professional truck drivers in the Pilot Flying J Truck Driver Challenge are some of the best in the business. A new Rand McNally TND device will complement the safe driving of our competitors nicely, as they’re guided safely to each raceway across the United States.”

This partnership is Rand McNally’s first venture with the Pilot Flying J Truck Driver Challenge.

“Rand McNally’s TND truck GPS devices are built specifically for professional drivers with truck-specific navigation, driver tools and safety features,” said Kendra Ensor, vice president of marketing at Rand McNally. “We’re very happy to sponsor the Driver Challenge which promotes driver skill and puts a positive spotlight on safe driving.”

A Rand McNally TND truck GPS device also will be used in the official Pilot Flying J Truck Driver Challenge transporter, driven by competition manager Joe Wernert. He will be driving the official transporter to twelve racing venues in 2014, using the Rand McNally device to navigate his way across the country. The Pilot Flying J Truck Driver Challenge promotes safe driving on the interstate. In this, its eleventh year of competition, an expected 150 professional transport drivers will be competing.
