ScanIQ releases cloud-based scanning app

ScanIQ announced ‘One-Touch’, a cloud computer-based scanning application that it says will provide an easy process for sending and receiving documents while on the road.

“We’ve listened to customers and delivered a high-octane product at an affordable monthly cost. The ability of drivers to take control of paperwork from inside the cab allows for increase in efficiencies while reducing costs,” says Arno Franchi, president of ScanIQ. In addition, the back-end console allows dispatchers to track their fleet along with the ability to send paperwork and messages to each driver.

“Now smaller fleets can afford the benefits of telematics in their vehicles and the efficiencies it brings,” he added.

To use the ‘One-Touch’ Scanning app, drivers load the document into the scanner and press the scan button on their Android Smart device. The scanned file destination is preset by the office using the ‘One-Touch’ console and can be sent in either PDF or TIFF formats to multiple emails, fax or FTP servers.

‘One-Touch’ has the ability to simultaneously email and fax documents which is useful for cross-border activity. The ‘FAX’ button asks the driver to enter in the fax number. After the paperwork has been sent, the app resets to default and subsequent transmissions will only go to the assigned e-mail addresses. The fax number is logged in the dispatch console back at the office for verification.

The second feature enables the office to send documents to the driver for them to print out. E-manifests, over-size permits and over-weight permits are just a few document types that have become increasingly important to get to drivers.

Because of strict security practices, the driver must attach the authorized printer to the device. Once the device is paired with the printer, the file will be allowed to print. Another security feature is all documents are never saved on the mobile device.
