Experienced truck drivers interested in joining Schneider National now have several new places to turn, the company announced. In June, Schneider began offering its orientation program at three new sites – in Indianapolis, Atlanta and West Memphis, Ark. This move, combined with an addition of three sites at the beginning of the year, expands the network of Schneider’s nationwide orientation sites from six to 12.

The sessions held at the new locations are open to drivers who have gained professional truck driving experience either as an owner-operator or company driver. This is a paid orientation program, with lodging and meal expenses covered by Schneider; drivers who must travel more than 100 miles to an orientation site will be compensated for their transportation expenses. Orientations are offered on a weekly basis.

During the three-day orientation program, attendees receive an overview of pay, benefits and other Schneider offerings. They also learn operating tips to best utilize the driver’s time and to better serve Schneider customers. Orientation leaders who are former Schneider drivers themselves focus on best practices for keeping the driver and the motoring public safe on the road.

Other locations offering experienced driver orientation programs include Schneider’s home base in Green Bay, Wis.; Dallas; Carlisle, Pa.; Charlotte, N.C.; Fontana, Calif.; and Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Sites added at the beginning of 2008 include Portland, Ore.; French Camp, Calif.; and Salt Lake City.
