A recent report from Pike Research says that almost 1 million natural gas-powered trucks and buses — about 930,000, the study forecasts — will be sold worldwide between 2012 and 2019.

According to an announcement about the report’s release, Pike says that though compressed natural gas currently dominates much of the truck market, liquified natural gas is growing slightly faster now than CNG is.

Moreover, the announcement says, there are only 117 LNG refueling stations worldwide, compared to 20,322 CNG stations.
