Tennant Truck Lines expands to $3.4M facility

Tennant Truck Lines, Inc., announced it has moved its headquarters from a family farm house into a $3.4 million, 17,500 square-foot facility to meet increased demand for freight transportation.

Tennant Truck Lines, Inc., which began with one truck and trailer to haul hogs, has grown to 184 trucks, 400 trailers and 210 employees. The expansion will enable the company to add 35 more trucks and 50 new jobs.

“We are thrilled with the new facility and all the enhancements we were able to add in the building for the business and our employees who will facilitate Tennant’s future growth,” said Aaron Tennant, president of Tennant Truck Lines, Inc. “This is an exciting moment for our company and I will continue to ensure Tennant Truck Lines remains the safest, most reliable, most cost efficient machinery hauler on the road.”

In addition to moving its headquarters, Tennant Truck Lines says it plans to continue its efforts to:

  • Integrate the latest GPS technology into the trucks for increased communication, cost savings and safety capabilities for drivers;
  • Create innovative driver recruitment and retention tactics that instill pride and respect among employees;
  • Develop customer betterment solutions, such as load consolidation centers that improve customer operational and traffic efficiencies, while increasing revenue for both parties.

Tennant Trucking Lines, a third generation family-owned business was established in 1946. It is an open deck carrier headquartered in Colona, Ill., serving the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and Midwest Regions. The company transports manufacturing, agriculture and steel commodities.
