Terra Environmental Technologies, a subsidiary of CF Industries Inc., announced the commissioning of TerraCair Ultrapure DEF production at CF’s nitrogen complex in Woodward, Okla. When running at full rate, the complex will be capable of producing 30 million gallons per year of TerraCair Ultrapure DEF.

CF Industries is a producer of major nitrogen products in North America. The Woodward complex is one of the company’s seven full-scale nitrogen production complexes in the United States and Canada.

In addition to the Oklahoma location, TerraCair Ultrapure DEF currently also is supplied from nitrogen plants in Ontario and Mississippi. A project currently is under way to add production at the company’s facility in Port Neal, Iowa, and another is being planned to expand capacity at Courtright, Ontario.

“The strength of CF Industries’ manufacturing system allows us to add DEF capacity cost-effectively as the market expands,” says Barry Lonsdale, TET president. TET also continues to invest in its transportation system, adding to its fleet of stainless-steel rail cars to improve handling capacity while supporting high purity standards.
