THE MISUNDERSTOOD EXCEPTION TO THE ELD RULE: THE 100 AIR-MILE RADIUS

Sponsored Information

The clock is ticking. Fleets and drivers have until Dec. 18, 2017, to start using either Automatic Onboard Recording Devices (AOBRD) or Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs). To avoid expected bumps with the FMCSA roll out, many fleets are acting now to buy more time. Fleets using AOBRDs before Dec. 18, 2017, enact a “grandfather clause” which allows them to continue operating for an additional two years under less restrictive AOBRD requirements. All fleets must be in full ELD compliance by December 16, 2019.
