Thomas Built Buses sponsors back to school photo contest

It’s back to school season for students across the country which means freshly sharpened pencils and new school clothes. For 25 million students, back to school also means yellow school buses, which provide them access to education.

To celebrate riding the school bus back to school and the impact that education makes in the lives of children across the country, Thomas Built Buses is hosting its Back to School Photo Contest.

The photo contest invites parents to submit a photo of their child that best represents the Back to School season. The top five winners, one from each of Thomas’ geographic regions, will each receive a $2,000 donation for their child’s school.

“So many of us remember the excitement of getting back on the school bus and posing for the milestone photo each year,” explains Kelley Platt, president and CEO of Thomas Built Buses. “School buses are such an integral part of our children’s lives. This photo contest is a great way to celebrate the excitement and nostalgia of riding the school bus back to school.”

To enter, parents ages 18 and older must “like” the Thomas Built Buses Facebook page and submit a photo of their child enrolled in grade K-12 on the page. All photos must depict a school bus, and photos that best represent the fun, excitement, and nostalgia of riding the bus back to school will have the best chances of winning. The most popular photos, as determined by “likes” will be selected as finalists from which the five winners will be selected.

Entries will be accepted from September 1, 2013 through September 14, 2013. On September 15, the voting period begins for all eligible photos. On October 1, the top 50 winning photos from the popular vote will be reviewed by a panel of independent judges who will choose the top five final winners (one from each of Thomas Built’s geographic areas).

The top 5 winners (one from each of Thomas Built Buses geographic areas) will receive a $2,000 donation for their school’s programs in science, technology, and math. Plus, the winning photos may be used on the Thomas Built website, social media, and promotional materials.
