Fourth acquisition by TMW in four years
TMW Systems last month acquired 100 percent of the outstanding shares of privately-held BetaZone Inc., including its wholly owned subsidiary, Innovative Computing Corporation (ICC). Terms of the transaction were not made public.
David Wangler, TMW president and chief executive officer, says the acquisition gives the company more opportunities to work with the nation’s top carriers using the IBM System i or AS/400 platform, as well as smaller carriers.
ICC has nearly 200 customers using its “on-premise” Innovative Enterprise Software (IES) application and 100 carriers on its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) version. In recent years, ICC has taken its SaaS offering to market in two versions: one geared for smaller carriers with more than 20 trucks, and the other suitable for much larger firms with more complex business requirements.
The acquisition also simplifies access for current ICC customers to complementary solutions from TMW, which include optimization, asset maintenance and business intelligence systems. ICC customers also benefit from significantly greater R&D and support resources offered by a larger organization, Wangler says.
TMW, based in Cleveland, already serves many customers jointly with ICC through its integrated products such as TMT Fleet Maintenance software, IDSC ExpertFuel, IDSC MatchAdvice and IDSC Netwise.
“Many Innovative customers have already found TMW Systems to be a strong industry technology partner where they have added TMW point solutions to their Innovative enterprise software,” says Ernie Betancourt, former president of ICC, based in Brentwood, Tenn.
Deborah Betancourt, formerly vice president of operations for ICC, will serve as vice president and general manager of ICC, reporting to Wangler.
