Blue Tree Systems, a provider of reefer monitoring, trailer tracking, and in-cab fleet management systems, announced that Trailiner Corporation has selected its R:Com system. The refrigerated truckload carrier is implementing Blue Tree System’s reefer monitoring on its 325 trailers to enhance the service it provides new and existing customers, add cargo security for untethered units, and ensure efficient operation of refrigeration units.

“We chose Blue Tree’s R:Com system because its user interface and customer support stood out above the rest,” said Amber Edmondson, president of Trailiner Corporation. “Our goal in adopting this new technology for our fleet is to improve the service we provide our customers by offering up-to-date load location and temperature status. We also want to be able to monitor untethered trailers at customer facilities and give our maintenance department access to refrigeration unit alerts. Customer communication is our top priority and in a short period of time the Blue Tree R:Com system has already helped us provide comprehensive, up-to-the-minute information to our customers.”

Founded over 30 years ago by H. E. “Spook” Whitener, Edmondson’s grandfather, Trailiner Corporation provides 48-state refrigerated service with about 200 tractors and 325 trailers. The Springfield, MO-based fleet hauls commodities ranging from produce and grocery to pharmaceutical and retail goods.

Trailiner has been outfitting its trailers with R:Com since mid January. Their technicians can complete a trailer installation in 30 minutes and Trailiner expects their entire fleet of 325 trailers to be equipped with R:Com by the end of February. Simultaneously, the carrier is using a new integration enabled by Blue Tree that links the R:Com system’s data to its dispatch and enterprise management software from Strategy Systems.

“Our technology will provide Trailiner Corporation with real-time  reefer trailer information that can be used to make quick, efficient decisions that result in improved productivity and reduce operating costs,” said L. T. “Chip” Powell, director of U.S. operations at Blue Tree Systems. “This visibility into trailer location and operating status will enhance the service Trailiner provides to the benefit of its customers, drivers and the entire fleet operation.”
