USA Truck (No. 57 on the CCJ Top 250) announced it is raising the pay scale for its drivers, effective immediately.

Michael Crowden, manager of marketing strategy for the fleet, said the pay increase is applied regionally based on the driver’s CDL state, and that the increases average approximately 1 cent-per-mile.

“There is nothing better than being able to tell our drivers: You’re getting a raise,” and James D. Reed, president and CEO of USA Truck. “This pay raise is part of our ongoing effort to make sure our driver team members are among the best treated and best compensated drivers on the road today.”

Reed added that the pay increase comes on the heels of the company adding XM Satellite Radio to its trucks and raising rates for unexpected downtime and short hauls.
