Vigillo, creators of data mining software products designed to aggregate, organize and deliver complex fleet safety information in an easy-to-read scorecard format, announced that ongoing growth is leading to a more than 25 percent increase in its data analytics, engineering and customer support staff.

Gretchen Wierenga CDS, an experienced trucking industry safety and risk management expert, is joining Vigillo and will lead the continued development of the company’s IQLab, which provides custom reporting, data analysis and research requests for customers and partners.

“The need for custom safety data management and advanced analytics capabilities continues to expand,” said Steve G. Bryan, CEO of Vigillo. “Putting people with experience in trucking and strong analytical skills in place will help the IQLab meet the overwhelming and growing number of requests we are receiving for custom reports and data analysis.”

Gretchen Wierenga recently served as a transportation safety consultant at Swift Transportation with its more than 20,000 drivers. Previously, she was with risk management at Interstate Distributor Co., a fleet with over 3,000 drivers, and was corporate safety and risk manager at Puget Sound International. Since 2007, Wierenga has also served as one of Vigillo’s original advisory board members.

Created in 2011 to meet demand for custom data analytics, IQLab provides a wide array of custom reports, data analysis and research. Included is Virtual Fleet, which enables fleets to commit to using only their best drivers for specific customers. Other offerings include CSA Point Reduction Analysis for understanding CSA violations and implementing a plan to reduce scores when they are over an intervention threshold. Vigillo’s State Enforcement Exposure Report, providing enforcement profiles of the 50 states, and annual Top Violations By State reports are also available.
