Bergstrom Inc., a provider of climate systems to the commercial vehicle industry, announced the acquisition of Modine Manufacturing Co.’s vehicular HVAC products business in North America. The subsidiary serves off-highway vehicles, trucks and school buses, specifically major commercial vehicle OEMs.

Bergstrom says the acquisition, terms of which were not announced, represents a significant growth in its production and manufacturing capabilities of HVAC products for off-highway vehicles, trucks and school buses. “This product line is a welcome addition to our core business” says Jack Shaffer, president and chief operating officer. “The acquisition enhances our product offerings in the HVAC market, and strengthens our ability to provide high-quality products to our customers in an efficient and timely manner.”

Bergstrom is currently in the process of moving physical assets to its company headquarters in Rockford, Ill. “By combining the technology, expertise and manufacturing capabilities of two leading companies, we will continue to drive climate control innovations within the commercial vehicle industry,” says Dave Rydell, Bergstrom owner. “In these times of economic uncertainty within our market, Bergstrom is proud to be able to supply additional jobs locally and keep these jobs in the U.S.”
