Blue Tree Systems, a provider of trailer tracking, reefer monitoring and fleet management solutions, announced it now offers its R:Com fleet management software on any Windows CE and Windows Mobile device, to include most industry-leading handheld devices. PHH Arval announced PHH InterActive for Drivers Mobile designed to allow drivers to complete fleet-related tasks from their smartphone.

Blue Tree says that by combining the R:Com Fleet Management system with a POD or other enterprise application commonly used on handheld devices, fleets save substantially in hardware investments and gain maintenance and support simplicity.

“This new capability means carriers already using any device operating on the Windows CE & Mobile platform can seamlessly install our R:Com fleet management system without undergoing expensive and lengthy hardware changes,” says Charlie Cahill, chief executive officer of Blue Tree Systems.

PHH Arval’s mobile Website is designed to give fleet drivers easy access to their vehicle and operator information from touchscreen smartphones, including iPhone, Android or Blackberry Touch or PlayBook devices.

Drivers can submit and view mileage reports and find local repair shops or fuel stations. Additionally, PHH InterActive for Drivers Mobile features a proactive to-do list for common tasks, service card PIN retrieval (U.S. only); extended login and vehicle and service card information.

“This is the latest in a series of technology advances we have introduced that are designed to not only improve productivity, but also to enhance the customer experience,” says Dave Zuidema, senior vice president, customer experience. “Our technology solutions reflect the way fleet managers and drivers like to work – freeing them from the PC, using the technology they prefer and making their job easier.”
