Americans continue to express little hope in a quick economic rebound, according to the latest update of the Consumer Confidence Index. The index dipped nearly two points in January, reported the Conference Board, which produces the index. The index now stands at 79.0, down from 80.7 in December.
“Overall readings continue to reflect the country’s lackluster economic activity,” said Lynn Franco, director of the Conference Board’s Consumer Research Center.
