Daimler Trucks debuts new service write up app

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) on Monday at the North American Commercial Vehicle Show in Atlanta rolled out a new mobile app designed to expedite the truck repair process.

Express WriteUp lets service advisors create a complete repair order wirelessly. When a vehicle arrives at a repair facility, the service advisor can get all necessary vehicle data by scanning the VIN or QR code affixed in the door pillar. The application then loads all warranty coverage, repair history and Detroit Connect Virtual Technician details.

The ability to scan the truck’s VIN, says DTNA Senior Vice President of Aftermarket Stefan Kirschner, eliminates human entry errors while speeding up the overall repair process.

After a vehicle is received through Express WriteUp, Uptime Pro helps dealers to stay connected with the customer throughout the repair and manage the repair more efficiently. Uptime Pro connects to the dealer management system and enables several external feeds to allow email and text messages to be sent to customers. Additionally, email responses from customers are automatically logged back to the repair order.

Also Monday, DTNA announced that Rogers, Minn,-based Boyer Trucks became 262nd Elite Support location, and notes the truck and parts maker has tripled online parts orders through its eCommerce platform, Pinnacle Truck Parts.
